my new computer layout

 

 okay so since the time i haven't post here I've tinkered with my Dell computer again, as it was having issues after installing steam, I believe I needed to update something and it messed up but then later worked, but I switched it to Fedora and have been using it to watch minecraft videos, I want to use it for playing games but steam had been taking forever to download things but i finally was able to download team fortress but i haven't actually played it on there, so today ill try to when i have the chance, 

talking about team fortress and games I did get it on my laptop and now it runs way less laggy, I think it was thanks to me using a distro that's know for being light weight ( mx linux ) 

lol before I was able to firgure out how to download gtk themes for the xcfe layout i had installed icewm and rox filer and tried to make it appear everytime on my xcfe session ( i didnt realise it makes a icewm session :P) and then killed the xfce panel and messed up the entire layout, but i firgure out how to reset the xfce layout easily after going into the xfce files and reading the instructions to reset the preferences, which fixed what i did.

then i found a raleigh theme online on github that had a dark option which i love! and I did mess around with browsers, wanting it to look like the rest of my computer, installing Palemoon first and then finding a firefox theme online that makes it look very close to what i want, Palemoon is fine, but a bit too slow for me to use, i enjoyed the themes i could use with it but i went back to firefox and then librewolf, basicly the same thing but then i found out about floorp, which is freaking cool, its another browser based on firefox, but has more customizion for your searching browser needs with a sidebar for shortcuts. also i just like how its called Floorp, heh, funny name. 

ALso the gear cursor i found i just love it, it wasn't working competely at first but it shoukd be just fine now, also wanting to find a differnt window border decorations, as i liked this one icewm theme which looked like shiny metal

i dont know what else to say, but i quite like my  laptop, :] <3

 

im alive

 okay so its been a while, uh its crazy that 2026 is just around the corner, like wow time really flies, this year has been a lot of fun and im excited for xmas, yeah, kinda excited, we, my family and i, do a breakfast togethor every year, and we get crepes! i love crepes, and lots of pancakes and bacon

 during the time i havent blogged/jouraled here, ive gotten into team fortress 2, finished customizng my laptop, and had a lack of motivation for my website or finishing any drawings,, 

 i did get ideas for ocs and have sketched them but no finished drawing, which i shouldnt hold that to me being successsful/worthful,  remebering again that i keep on wanting to make a professional commission page for people to commission me is keeping me from actully opening commissions, chat if anyone is reading this and wants art pls contact me at Olive.freezy@proton.me, i need money, well before i didnt need it but now i need money. i feel so akward having family look out for me money wise at stores. 

anyways im getting in techy stuff, i like watching the videos of repurposing old computers, ewaste, and making new things with raspberry pi, i wanna try my hand at that!

i cant think of anything else to say,, i ship personifed Windows x Linux :)

Success! laptop os changed

 Success! after a bit of trial and error I've done it and my laptop is an Linux mint now instead of Windows, so now I won't have to worry about needing to upgrade to some windows 11, and whatnot, 

 I was able to get a USB, which has more then enough space, and flash the os onto it, after doing it again and again and then renaming one file and then something else, it works! there was a bit where it was all ready but then a bug happened but its okay now, and thanks to another computer I was able to use,

the computer that helped out was a dell windows 10 computer that wasn't being used in my household and because I've been working on this i just went ahead and grabbed it, and it came in handy whenever the drive wasn't doing its thing on my laptop and I really needed it to figure it all out. as I had already rid of the original os at that time 

I was really crashing out seeing the download time rise and fall lol, wth, I don't do much time downloading things on computers especially like this, from saying 2 hours to 21 hours, it freaked me

  anyways as im writing this its almost 5 in the morning, luckily i did this when i wasnt busy at all!

and tomorrow i plan on using this cool website i found for writing to work on some stories, its called Ellipsus! its pretty neat! it has a merge and compare feature, with a main doc and drafts. also has some nice looking themes! and another neat feature is that it updates in real time, so when i type on pc and my ipad is logged in on the same page it will start to update the page with what i write! 

it is also collaborative and the team who made it is strongly against ai and so theres no ai!!!!!!! and also theres a lot of cool templates you can use for writing. they're all for creatitvy!!!!

Windows 10 no longer being supported, and game development!

Recently I found out that windows is going to stop supporting windows 10, the type of laptop I have, and well I’m now determined to install Linux to keep my laptop functioning, as I am not upgrading to windows 11, and just wanna give it a try.

Got a new laptop yay!

 Recently I acquired an laptop, it being in someone’s possession where they were going to destroy it for parts because it was quite slow and this person really likes taking things apart, but not in the smart tech way, in the mad scientist/engineer, leave it outside and forget about it, way.

Either way I took it in and watched a few videos on customizing computers and how to get rid of bloatware and make it faster and more usable, I fixed it up pretty good, and it works way better than before!

It’s a windows 10 HP, and I’ve started using it to work on my website, I can see how it all looks on a computer now! I didn’t mention it before, but I was coding it all on iPad with Koder and so that helps a lot.

Before I got the laptop, I’ve been off and on thinking about getting one, finding cool looking cyber decks online, after stumbling upon a product on pinterest from YARH.IO. obsessing over how they look, 

And well those are expensive  and wouldn’t exactly be suited for me and my skill set at least not right now, but seeing this opportunity I took it! I think one reason I wanted a computer is well so I could use it to transfer files from my flip phone (independently) and also so I can play pc games

And this one has the dvd player so I am able to play my Superjail season 1 dvd. I did unfortunately find that it’s playing odd, with the bottom half switching from green and pink and everything flickering about, and with the top half being like, the entire video but squished to not be effected by the glitch.

I’m not sure what is causing this, but I haven’t played any other dvds, so hopefully it’s just the superjail dvd being messed up

About today and my website

 Today I slept most of the day, because yesterday and the day before that I didn’t get any sleep, but today i did get lots of sleep.

I woke up around 3 or 4 pm and went to the art studio, only going because I was able to get ready after getting a call about if I was wanting to go, and I was able to help with some things and work on my website again, I talked with friends and doodled a bit, then went home. 

At home, or whenever I went into my living space, I did some cleaning and fed pets, the cleaning part ending around 1 am, possibly more as I am writing this at such a hour, 

For my website I feel like its been doing super well, at least with how I’m feeling about it now, I ditched it’s old layout which was someone else’s code, which I did like and modified it fully, i found it cool as it had a main page that used iframes to connect other pages.

I quite like how it is now, i feel like the white background and with it having a simple layout, with me just using display flex instead of position helps too, having me focus more on what i have instead of like, where it is and what it looks like.

Something else fun that’s been going on, a few days ago me and my friend have been talking more about our characters for this roleplay and that’s been really nice, and also with me finding a new person to roleplay with, which reminds me, I ought to reply back soon.

Making an website can be hard

Especially when you are making it from scratch, digging around in the code to try and stitch things together, well for me at least it’s a bit hard to figure out, and then I question what to put on it, and start to compare my work with others websites, which seem much much cooler then mine, and then I go onto Pinterest to get ideas of what I want my own website to look like and get carried away with picking things out and head back to my site all fogged up and overwhelmed at my bare site. 

Nat, freaky guy

 Writing about my character named Nat, I’ve recently changed his design aLOT, and im not really sure its the same characater, but he used to be a cute scrunkly and fun mad scientist with pastel green hair, big goggles and naked tail

I had taken inspiration from a cute art print that was gifted to me which had a girl or some person with funky glasses and green hair on it, i will possibly reuse this design for something else but i decided to put Nat into the same realm as my other characters Mr. Pocket, Taron and many others in their extraterrestrial fantasy world that has gotten a bit more darker and creepy in nature as i grow older and find more interests , or rather firgue out ways to make things how i wanna. 

Before this drastic change I imagined Nat to be some clusmy and naive intern student with big dreams of working at the biggest space jail, to work with patients of course, and not make explosives in their huge lab or gawk at the cool outer space jail mates, nuuhh uh.

Yello!,,, welcome to my blog page, my name is freezy, and I am a nonbinary artist (he/they/zir) mostly focused on my original characters which are mostly if not all monsters and little creatures, I just love making little goobers, the goobers in question ranging from cute and cuddly smol creatures to old men with edgy backstories, and of course horrifying monsters. 

 

I am inspired by quite a few things for my art, 1950s art style, favorite cartoons and also other artists like Wipermont and illusioncanthurtme. And recently I am aiming on making more intricate designs for my objectheads, they are their own alien species in their world and I wanna give them more features that scream alien monster instead of just another object head, Which is not bad I love object heads 💙 they just need more things for me to brain chew and play around with how their alien biology works.

Anyways I am ending my talk here! I might ramble on later about the specifics of my characters and their lives later, and post some art about it all later
