Windows 10 no longer being supported, and game development!

Recently I found out that windows is going to stop supporting windows 10, the type of laptop I have, and well I’m now determined to install Linux to keep my laptop functioning, as I am not upgrading to windows 11, and just wanna give it a try.

All I need is a usb stick (or a blank dvd..) and the helpful videos online, thank you helpful video creators, helping us in tough times and the struggle of figuring out something new!

I haven’t used my pc too much in the time I’ve had it, a large percentage of usage on exploring neocities, updating my website, and waiting for things to load.

and I also had game maker installed as I plan on trying to make games with it, besides going back to Scratch to learn the basics, logic, variations and values stuff, as I suck at coding, and sticking blocks together is easy… easier.

Html and css isn’t a problem for me anymore, it’s like blocks and boxes, I’m so used to it now, that’s a cool skill to have, and hopefully with Scratch it’ll teach me what I need for making games.

Reason why I’m wanting to make a game? Uh, well when I was younger I was really into it and actually had Scratch coding books, I really wanted to make games when I was little, and I guess that’s just something I wanna know how to do, I’ve been making small things with Gdevelop and any other coding apps I can find on my iPad, for example a simple platformer with this dinosaur player!

An video game where you play as this little dinosaur alien and you have to move blocks around with telekinesis to solve puzzles to get pass levels, and you collect meat to give to this giant chicken

The “dinosaur’s” name is Ayo, and the story is still under wraps, and gameplay still in the works too, I plan on adding an baby Dino that you’d have to take care of too

But back to whatever I was talking about, getting Linux on my laptop, I think Linux might help me with productivity too, and I am probably gonna get Mint or Pop os.

Installing Linux involves downloading the OS and putting it into an usb drive before restarting the pc and starting it with the drive (to put it simply). In which the process should be easy but it’s something I’ve never done before so wish me luck!
